Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, better known as DALI, is a standardised lighting control technology used by multiple vendors. DALI version-1 has its roots in the 1990’s and provides support for a wide variety of output devices. As it doesn’t support input devices (such as PIRs, switches) many manufacturers added proprietary and incompatible extensions to their products, and thus DALI-2 arrived in 2019 to extend the standards to cover input devices and allow for interoperability between manufacturers’ DALI-2 input devices too.
As an integrator, More Solutions Ltd has a strong preference for open technologies without vendor lock-in. With that in mind we recommend Rapix Lighting Control, a product designed Oxuno Pty (Australia) by industry veterans including many who previously worked on the C-Bus product range. Unlike most of its competitors, this powerful and reliable, yet cost-effective, product range comes with free commissioning software with extensive documentation.
Whilst we can – and do – work with other DALI products, we recommend Rapix and have invested in supplying and supporting the UK and European market.
